Silent Drape Runners: At the heart of Carly Rae Jepsen’s majestic ‘Call Me Maybe’ is a desire to be understood and wanted. We’ve taken that to a different place here, with an element of intoxication. The scene is the amorphous everyclub, and the attempt to communicate desire through the glorious haze of whatever substance. Mixed in is a time-stretched sample of Robyn’s ‘Call Your Girlfriend’: a ghost haunting the form of ‘Call Me Maybe’. ‘Call Me Maybe’ is the best pop song 2012 has given us so far and we love it.
